Biography
Upon graduating I worked for several years for a two major Design and Marketing consultancies as a Designer and Project Manager before embarking on a career in education. During my time at Salford I have held a number of roles including Programme Leader (Product Design), Associate Head Academic, Head of School, Director of Admissions and Franchise & Collaborations Manager.
I have extensive experience as External Examiner and have acted in an in an advisory capacity for a number of universities and National bodies:

Teaching
I have a broad knowledge and experience of 3D Design both from a craft and an industrial perspective. I have taught Silversmithing, Interior Design, Product Design and Sports Equipment Design and have a particular interest in the Design Process and Creative Design methods.
I have been actively engaged with teaching management throughout my career and implemented the following;
The design and introduction of standardized briefing and assessment procedures and documentation across the school and the introduction of common assessment criteria and generic grade descriptors.
Research Interests
Whilst I have had a lengthy academic career my research interests are still being developed. Along with colleagues I am currently working on Design Against Crime projects in association with GMP to embed and integrate associated issues with the design curriculum through student projects.
