Within my teaching experience I have worked tirelessly on ensuring that students’ needs are attended to and the Learning experience is enriching and fulfilling. I work across all three years of the course teaching all aspects of the programme including dissertation supervision. I have experience in delivering lectures and teaching many modules. As a module leader I have been responsible for the development of modules, the brief writing, the development of resources and assessment of the work, as well as the end of module evaluations, which includes reacting to improvements needed and the sharing of good practice.
When considering my industry experience and how this relates to being a fashion lecturer I have 11 years experience working in the fashion design industry, working across several markets building up from a junior designer through to a design manager. The majority of my experience has been gained working for importers, which involved extensive travel to factories and cities throughout the global fashion arena. These experiences have taught me the
importance of understanding market level, working to briefs and meeting tight deadlines. I have extensive experience of presenting ranges and collections to buyers from the major high street players and international brands and have had responsibility for putting together trend stories, research trips, critical paths and budgets.
Teaching across the BA (Hons) Fashion design programme
I have a research interest in Sustainablity and the impact fashion has on the planet. My MA focused on Zero waste one piece pattern cutting.
