Biography

Christopher Paul "CP" Lee is a writer, broadcaster, lecturer and performer who began his singing career in the North West folk and beat clubs of the 1960s before becoming a lynchpin of the punk rock explosion with his band Alberto y Lost Trios Paranoias.¿¿Changing professions in the 1980s, CP became and still is a Film Studies tutor, currently a course leader and senior lecturer at the University of Salford. His interest in Manchester film is reflected in his websites www.manchesterfilmhistory.info and www.itsahotun.com, an online archive for the Mancunian Film Studios. His lifelong passion for the life and words of American 'hip' philosopher Lord Buckley continues with his performances of his one-man show 'M'Lords and Ladies - Lord Buckley!'¿¿As well as his autobiography 'When We Were Thin', CP has written two books on Bob Dylan, one of which is about Dylan's 1966 concert at Manchester's Free Trade Hall 'Like The Night (Revisited)', a book on the history of popular music-making in Manchester ('Shake, Rattle & Rain') and he is co-author of 'The Lost World of Cliff Twemlow', a book about the Mancunian film director, writer, musician and actor Cliff Twemlow. CP is an adviser, writer and presenter of documentaries for BBC Radio and TV and he also conducts walks and talks on a variety of subjects.¿¿His specialties include ukulele playing, singing, hat collecting, role playing, wit, bon-vivant, raconteur and all-round good egg!
