Art and design facilities
The School of Arts and Media operates a number of industry standard workshop facilities to enable students to develop their practice in their chosen field of study. Art and design facilities include specialist workshop areas in fashion garment construction, photography, visual arts, print making and three dimensional modelling. Each area is staffed by experienced specialist support staff that will assist and advise students in their practical course work.
Continuous investment in equipment allows students to access the latest prototyping equipment as well as industry standard traditional machinery. All of this is complemented with computer suites for Mac and PC, equipped with the latest software.
The School's art and design facilities are currently spread across three campuses with the following workshop areas:
New Print room specialising primarily in screen print with capacity for relief printing
Sound and audio labs
Photographic studios/ darkroom
Laser cutting area
Fashion garment construction workshop
Prototyping area- CNC embroidery and fabric printing
Main 3D workshop facility covering wood metal and plastic
Spray /finishing room
Prototyping area - 3D printers, scanners, CNC milling machines and laser cutting machines
PC and Mac suites
