How to Apply – Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught Courses
Students applying for art and design courses come from a variety of backgrounds. Many apply when undertaking their A Levels or a foundation (pre degree) course, others will have undertaken a National Diploma, a Foundation Degree or perhaps have been out of education for some time.
Places on some of our courses are highly competitive – however we generally look to interview all suitably qualified applicants, and make our decision based largely upon the work in their portfolio. Specific entry requirements are shown on the course pages but, as a general rule, we look for 96-112 tariff points (or equivalent), or successful completion of a Foundation/Diploma programme for entry on to our degree courses (please note that Merit or Distinction may be required if no other qualifications have been previously obtained e.g A Level’s). For most courses it is a requirement that you have studied art and design.
The School welcomes applications from students who have undertaken HNDs or Foundation Degrees at other colleges, who wish to enter at level 5 (year 2) or level 6 (year 3).
It is recommended that students visit the School before making their application.
