A creative revolution
From Salford to Trafford, something exciting is happening in Greater Manchester.
The region is now Europe’s second-largest creative and digital hub, behind London. A study by ‘Manchester Monitor’ estimates that the sector will create 23,000 new jobs over the next 10 years. And household names, including the BBC and ITV, as well as over 80 smaller media and production companies are setting up home at MediaCityUK – alongside our new campus which opened in 2011.
At the School of Arts & Media, we want to play our part in this extraordinary success story, by forming close partnerships with creative organisations like yours – to your benefit, the benefit of our students and the benefit of the sector and the region as a whole.
As an industry partner, you can work with our talented students for placements and live briefs. You can build your brand profile by getting involved with arts and media events, such as the annual Create Salford festival and Salford International Media Festival. You can skill-up your workforce through our programme of specialised Continuing Professional Development courses and even collaborate with us on game-changing research projects.
By placing students in a range of creative organisations, it provides invaluable student opportunities as well as pioneering, fresh ideas for our partners.
