Metes and Bounds

Friday 21 February 2014 12.30pm - Friday 21 February 2014 2.00pm
Venue: Imperial War Museum North, The Quays, Trafford Park, Trafford Wharf Rd, M17 1TZ
Event Type: Arts; Music; Open Days/Student Events
Students on the second year Performance: Contemporary Practices degree course will be working with artist Sheila Ghelani and collectively responding to the Imperial War Museum North’s exhibition Catalyst: Contemporary Art and War. The show, which runs until Sunday 23 February, is the museum’s first major exhibition of its national collection of contemporary art produced since the First Gulf War.
Our undergraduates will respond to the collection with an interactive performance, bringing the audience that little bit closer to the works on display and questioning our perceptions of war and conflict, land and bodies, boundaries and nature.
The Music & Performance Directorate is thrilled to be working in partnership with Imperial War Museum North and Sheila Ghelani on this exciting collaborative project; where art and audience meet, performance happens!
