Leanne Hardacre

2014 Fashion Design graduate, Leanne Hardacre, 21, is currently in Beijing competing against 11 of the most talented young fashion designers in the world to win the izzue x Tsinghua Fashion Design Award 2014.

Leanne needs all the support she can get to win the ‘People’s Choice Award’. Online voting is open from 12pm today until 12pm on Wednesday 30th July.

The talented young fashion designer graduated in 2014 with a First Class Honours degree. During her last year, her final collection was selected to be showcased on the catwalk at Graduate Fashion Week in London.

She is currently in Beijing for the competition organised by clothes shop izzue and has had just a few days to design and make an outfit to be judged by international experts from the likes of Harper’s Bazaar magazine and the Royal College of Art for the ‘Best Design Award’.

Leanne also has the chance to win the ‘People’s Choice Award’ decided by online voting. Leanne is one of only three students in the final from UK universities and is the first ever student from Salford University to take part.

There is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the overall winner of izzue x Tsinghua Fashion Design Award 2014 who will create a capsule collection with the izzue design team, potentially to be sold in stores, on top of cash reward.

Leanne said: “I could never have dreamed about having an opportunity like this to launch my fashion career. I am so honoured to be taking part in the izzue x Tsinghua Fashion Design Award 2014.

It’s really hard work but this is what I absolutely love to do and I am relishing every minute of it. It would mean the world to me if the people of my university town could spare a few seconds to vote for my outfit to win the ‘People’s Choice Award’. If I won, who knows where the accolade could take me!”
