University of Salford Manchester

Where will I live?

We have over 2,400 bedrooms available all within walking distance of the main campuses, providing a choice of self catered accommodation for you to choose from. All sites are a short walking distance from the University campus and linked by a free term-time bus service.

The largest student population in Europe lives in Manchester – so you won’t be short of places to rent if you decide not to live in our University accommodation.

If you wish to make your own arrangements for private accommodation please visit Manchester Student Homes or call +44 161 275 7680 for details of accredited properties in Salford and Manchester.

Commuting in

If you’re thinking of community from home we’re easily accessible, no matter how far you’re travelling. We’re located just a mile and a half from Manchester city centre on major bus routes with services running every few minutes. Salford Crescent train station is situated right in the heart of the campus and we have car parking facilities available for you.

Find out more by using our interactive campus map and downloading our campus map and approach routes.

Manchester Student Homes is owned and managed by Manchester Metropolitan University and The University of Manchester and the free services are also available to students of The Manchester College, Royal Northern College of Music and University of Salford students. There are two main types of accommodation – privately owned/managed halls of residence and shared houses or flats.

Click for details of available rooms in private halls.

As the rooms available will be changing on an hourly basis it may also be worth contacting the halls directly to check what is available before making an application. There are likely to be cancellations or students who do not arrive so rooms may become available at short notice.

Alternatively if you would prefer to look for a house to share with other students you can use this search facility and search for properties by location, price and other options.

Forum is where students can advertise empty rooms in a house or flat and need somebody else to move in.

Before applying for any accommodation we recommend you refer to the following guide.
