The VCO's role

PA/Office Support

The team provides a seamless executive support function, managing all business requirements in a highly competent, knowledgeable and friendly manner and thereby supporting the senior leadership in achieving their objectives. Typical duties within the office include monitoring Senior Staff email accounts,  responding  promptly and professionally on behalf of Prof Marshall and her team, escalating and monitoring issues through to completion; comprehensive forward-planning ensuring that all strategic priorities are fully administrated and planned, and also provide briefings and contextual background on all  commitments.  Event organisation and international travel also are a function of the office, alongside being the external and internal primary contact for many international and external stakeholders.

Policy Management & Advice

The VC's Office provides policy support on the key strategic priorities of the University. Working closely with Schools, Professional Services and the Students' Union we support the leadership of the University in formulating and developing strategy, policy and procedures, and subsequently analysing  implementation  and performance. The VC's Office provides briefings and analysis of up to date information on a range of sector, national and regional issues, linking to the clear policy briefs of the VC, DVC, COO and PVCs. The policy team work on key projects and initiatives, providing policy expertise  and  advice. They key Strategic priorities are:
