Gill provides executive project and business support to Executive Members, engaging with the key strategic objectives of the University and Executive Members in order to aide in the management of projects and activities as required. Based in the Offices of the Vice-Chancellor, Gill works closely and collaboratively with senior management, Schools and Professional Services and external bodies.
Gill's career started in private industry working for a number of companies, with her main experience working for Sharp Electronics (UK) Limited. Gill’s first involvement of working in higher education was in 1999 when she joined the University of Cambridge as Senior Secretary to the Head of Physical Chemistry. She joined the University of Salford in 2003, as Personal Assistant to the Director of Information Services Division (IT and Library Services) in 2006 she moved to the Vice-Chancellor’s office as PA to the Pro Vice-Chancellors for Academic Enterprise and Research & Graduate College. More recently, in September 2016 supported the Deputy Vice-Chancellor as Interim PA.
Gill enjoys spending time with her family and close friends; she lives locally with her two children.
