Vikki Goddard has been the University Chief Operating Officer since August 2015, having been the University Registrar since June 2013. As Chief Operating Officer she is responsible for ensuring that the Professional Services provide an excellent support for all the University’s activities and play a key role in achieving our objectives. She holds line management responsibility for a number of Professional Services Directors. The other key part of her role as a member of the Vice-Chancellor’s Executive team is to advise, input and co-ordinate the work of the Executive.
Vikki joined the University in November 2011, as Registrar for the College of Science and Technology and was responsible for leading all Professional Service people and functions within the College. She progressed to the role of Deputy Registrar: Academic, leading Student Life, Research and Innovation and the Library as well as Student Information (SID) where she was also Director.
Before joining Salford, Vikki worked at the Universities of Liverpool and Bradford, in a range of Professional Services roles including international development, quality assurance, research strategy and RAE management, collaborative partnerships and examinations, culminating in her role as Director of Planning at the University of Liverpool. She also led the implementation of the academic relationship with Liverpool’s joint venture partner in China, Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University.
Vikki holds Masters and Bachelors degrees and is a Fellow of the Association of University Administrators. She is a member of the Leadership Foundation for HE’s Membership Advisory Group. She was Chair of the HE Strategic Planners Association and of the Russell Group Directors of Planning.
