Kay HackKay is the Acting Head of the School of Health Sciences.She joined the University of Salford in 2001 and has held a number of leadership roles within the institution including Associate Head Academic within the School of Health Sciences and Associate Dean Academic for the College of Health and Social Care with responsibility for academic leadership, strategic development and quality assurance of the educational portfolio for the School and College.

Kay qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1981 and worked in clinical physiotherapy roles developing a specialist interest and expertise in neurological rehabilitation. She completed an MSc in Bioengineering in 1985 then held lecturing positions at Queen Margaret College and Glasgow Caledonian University.

Since 2012 she has been a member of the North West Allied Health Workforce Board which provides strategic leadership and influence to ensure that the AHP workforce has the right skills, values and professional development to deliver excellent healthcare in the North West.
