Limelight is an art installation by Glasgow-based arts practice Sans façon which replaces street lighting with theatre spotlights, transforming the street into a stage and passers-by into performers.

In the last year, Sans façon artists Charles Blanc and Tristan Surtees have turned streets in cities around the world into impromptu stages. Spontaneous performances by members of the public included dancing, singing and serenading their loved ones.

Event organiser Kit Turner said: “MediaCityUK is full of creative media professionals and students so we hope to see some interesting performances after dark!”

Limelight has appeared in Glasgow, Newcastle, Inverness, London, Arlington, Virginia, Kansas City, Missouri, Gaborone, Frankfurt and Toronto. Miami and Prague are the next destinations.
